The book invites readers to discover the effervescence of cinema in the Roaring Twenties through the eyes of Marguerite, Jeanne and Henri, three members of a family on the brink of heartbreak.
The author's immersive narrative captures the creative urgency of the time and the social transformation brought about by the advent of cinema. Richly written and detailed, the novel blends intense emotion with in-depth analysis of family and societal dynamics.
Vous n'avez encore rien entendu stands out for its ability to combine history and fiction to offer a poignant reflection on cultural transformation and the impact of cinema on human relationships.
‘There is humour, delicacy, impertinence and elegance in these words. The reader can reconstruct the epic like a jigsaw puzzle. It's both very funny and very touching.’
- Marie R.
‘I really enjoyed the story. I really got attached to all the characters. Following Marguerite's introspective thinking is a pleasure. It's a very colourful book, with a wide range of rich references. It's both intimate and grandiloquent, I love it!’
- Charlotte P.
‘I had a great time reading and learned a lot!’

Readers' comments
‘A novel with a lot to say!
This historical family novel takes us back to the world of cinema at the dawn of the first talking pictures. Nolwenn R.R.W. explores the themes of memory and intergenerational links, siblings, the place of women in society at the time, identity and non-conformism. A wonderful discovery!

‘A magnificent epic
I really enjoyed this book, which takes us on a family saga at a time when cinema was becoming a talking medium. In this effervescent post-war era, told by the narrator Marguerite. It's a plunge both into intimacy and into a period of French history. I recommend this very fine book.’

' The Paname version of Pat Conroy. Whisky, opium, Hanoi and its little lake. I really liked this first sentence on page 221, which I find full of balance.’
- Eric D.
‘A story about a travelling family in the early days of talking pictures! A real leap back in time, with a Downtown Abbey feel and all too interesting historical points! ’
- Marine P.
‘ (...) a very beautiful pen. I encourage everyone to discover this universe. ’

‘‘The travel stories of a family reunited at last
A journey through nineteenth- and twentieth-century France, with a diversion to Hanoi before the First World War, and a hint of Hollywood. Epochs and personalities that confront and articulate each other gently and and successfully!’’

‘‘A successful immersion in the Roaring Twenties
Over and above the beautiful family story told by Nolwenn R.R.W, this book is a real immersion in the often fantasised Paris of the early twentieth century. I highly recommend it.’’
